The Very Rev. Peter Elliott

A native of St. Catherines, Ontario, the Very Reverend Peter Elliott has been Rector of Christ Church Cathedral Vancouver and Dean of the Diocese of New Westminster since 1994. Ordained in 1980, Peter has served parishes in Ontario, worked with the Diocese of Toronto and, prior to coming to Vancouver, was a Program Director with the Anglican Church of Canada. He is a graduate of Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario and the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Peter served as an Officer of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada, from 1998-2001 and has been elected for a second term as a member of the Council of General Synod and chair of its Planning and Agenda Team.

He is active in the Arts Community of Vancouver, serving on the Boards of the Vancouver International Film Festival and Early Music Vancouver. He reviews films for the national newspapers of the Anglican Church of Canada and the Anglican Church of Australia. In 1999, his film reviews received an award of excellence from the Associated Church Press.
